Club Event:  The Greatest Story ever told!!!!
The inside story of how the Great Escape from Long Kesh in 1983 took place is being brought to St Teresa’s on Friday 1 June. Three of the main men behind the historic and audacious operation Bobby Storey, Bik McFarlane and Gerry Kelly, will tell the story in their ‘No Holds Barred’ manner in the clubrooms on Friday 1 June.

This is a ‘not to missed night’ so get your tickets from Peadar or the committee. As this is a juvenile fundraiser we hope it will be well supported by all the members.

Match Event:
U14 Feile B Semi-Final
St. Teresa’s 1-10 Rossa 0-3
On Sunday 29th April the U14 panel made it through to the B Feile final beating Rossa after having disposed of Sarsfields in the 1st Round. Both Sarsfields & Rossa fancied themselves to win this competition but good hard work and skilful play from ALL the St. Teresa’s panel soon put pay to their aspirations.
The final was Sunday 6th May against Eire Og (Glen Rd. pitch 12.30). Our U14's started strong and continued so throughout the game. Playing against the wind in the first half, they quickly established a good lead, not counting a disallowed goal incorrectly given as square ball, and a foul inside the box incorrectly given as a free instead of a penalty. In the sceond half they continued to extend the lead for a comprehensive victory, resulting in a happy team and happier team manager walking off the pitch carrying some silverware!

Club Event: Ethiopia fundraiser Friday 11 May
As part of La Salle’s Ethiopia Appeal Philip Maguire and Noel McGarry are running a fund raising disco in St Teresa’s Clubrooms on Friday 11 May. Both lads will travel to Kobé in the summer to work in the town’s orphanage, alongside Mother Teresa’s Sisters, organising sports events and coaching the children. The lads need to raise £1,000 each to cover their expenses for the trip and as it is a worthwhile cause the club is calling on everyone to support the venture. Tickets for the event are available from Philip and Noel or just pay at the door on Friday 11.

Match Event:Minor Football League
St. Teresa’s 5-3 Sarsfields 1-9
1st game in the 2007 campaign was played Tuesday evening @ Glen Road and saw an excellent game between a fancied Sarsfields and a determined St. Teresa’s outfit. First half was fairly even with St. Teresa’s leading at the break by 1 point having scored 2 goals. A further goal blitz minutes into the 2nd half all but finished the contest although Sarsfields continued to add points but rarely troubled a strong St. Teresa’s defence.

Match Event: U10 Hurllers (and a couple P6-U11 players.) played eight games in Eire Og tournament in A'Town leisure centre. Although starting slowly they imroved through out the competition. Being beat 8-0 by Gortnamona on day until we played them again on the second last day and narrowly lost 5-3, although we clocked up wins against Ardoyne and Sarsfields.Overall for first time together , with many P4's in the team a good all round performance..

Match Event (20/2/07): 5 members of St. Teresa’s Under 14 team played in the successful St Mary’s 1st year team which won the Belfast Colleges final, played under lights last Wednesday night in Casement Park. They defeated Edmund Rice College in a very entertaining match before quite a large crowd. All the boys played well and Conor O’Rawe captained the St Mary’s team.

Club Event (1/2/07): The presentation of the Club’s 5 Year Development Plan took place on Thursday 1st February at 7.30pm in the clubrooms. Gerry McClory over the period of an hour outlined the proposed new structure focusing on sporting, commercial, social and cultural objectives..

Match Event (1/1/07): Veterans Vs Young Turks. Over 40 players took part in the ‘Big’ game @ New Years and although the Vets went in level at half time against a strong wind, some early killer goals in the 2nd half gave the young Turks a deserved lead. The Vets rallied with a disputed penalty (put away by a very proud new dad of twins Larry) which meant the game finished in a narrow win for the Turks.
